"Perfect location for sightseeing trips!"by K from Cheltenham
This hotel is in a great location - Central Park a few streets one way, Times Square/Broadway a few streets the other and the shopping district starting 3 blocks away!! The hotel itself is quite basic but this should be of no surprise given the star rating. Its not the sort of hotel to spend lots of time in but given all the exciting things to do outside the front doors I wouldn't imagine you would want to! The concierge was very helpful but the reception staff were a bit frosty! Did it ruin my stay? Absolutely not!!
"I will go back"by A from London
Great location, great price, clean and comfortable, room was a good size for NYC. I will go back. The only issue I had was the long wait for the lifts on the 22 floor add a 5min wait.
"very good hotel"by g from london
very nice hotel and in a great location
"Fab location shame about the staff"by A from Surrey UK
Organised this trip for my daughter (18) and myself to spend 4 nts in the Big Apple and despite the mixed reviews about the hotel the location and the cost in mid February were too tempting to pass up. The hotel was great, we had a room on the 5th floor, not too far to take the stairs when the lifts were full . The size and cleanliness of the room were good and the housekeeping staff were very helpful and friendly. However unfortunately we didn't encounter this when interacting with any of the other hotel staff. Whilst we didn't spend much time at the hotel (too busy sightseeing and exploring the city,)we were able to laugh off the lack of hospitality as we were having such a good time. Did it put us off staying there again, probably not, but it would depend on the price!
"fabulous location"by k from london (watford)
When our taxi pulled up at the Hotel we couldn't believe how convenient it was. Close to Central Park, Times Square & a host of good restuarants. We had asked for a room with smoking & were very impressed with the room, plus nice comfy beds, good supply of bathroom towels & accessories. The only thing we could fault with the room was a big half wall that divided the two beds. Other than that we enjoyed our stay very much. Staff were helpful & courteous and would definitely stay there again.
"Would be happy to stay again"by D from London
I chose this hotel without fully realising its perfect location. Times Square is visible from the entrance of the hotel in one direction and Central Park, two blocks away in the other direction. Broadway and all the sights and shops are either within walking distance or easily reached by subway with a station just round the corner. The hotel itself is very pleasant and we felt fairly at home for the week we stayed. However, eating is quite expensive in Manhattan and a mini bar and tea making facilities in the room would have allowed us to have a few light meals without having to go to restaurants. Comfort therefore drops to 4. The room was quite big enough for us since we had two double beds but a room with only one bed may have been too small. Unfortunately, when we were checking for any items we may have dropped behind the furniture, we found some belonging to previous occupants which indicated that the room may not have been as clean as it should have been! Cleanliness therefore rates 4. Overall, an excellent place to stay.
"Low Expectations Delivered"by N from London
Comfortable and slightly dated hotel. Beware I was not even provided with shampoo in the bathroom - an amenity I thought every hotel or B&B with en suite would provide
"would recommend with proviso"by C from Dublin
Iwould recommend the hotel. It was centrally located and within walking distance of facilities and transport. The staff were on the whole friendly and accomadating, espically the concierge and household. I did miss tea making facilities in the room and it would be a consideration if choosing a hotel again. The breakfast room service, which we used only once, was poor. Toast was cold and the milk served in a glass covered with clingfilm !! On one ocassion a family member from out of state tried to contact me and reception staff were unable to find my room number despite the fact that the room was booked in my name, after 25mins of no satisfation he gave up. Thankfully it wasn't an emergency. qverall a pretty positive experience but some improvements could be made
"Excellent location"by J from Yorkshire
We were staying for 7 days and the location of the hotel meant we were in walking distance of Broadway, Times Square , Central Park and subway on same block to further afield. While we were there we had only a short walk to watch the Thanksgiving Day parade.
