We agonised over which hotel would be right for us to put us in the right New York location & the Roosevelt turned out to be perfect. It's within 3 minutes of Grand Central station, & walking distance of Times Sq, Empire State, Central Park, etc. The hotel was exactly as described on its web site. V comfy beds. We stayed on a no breakfast deal & took our own kettle for tea in our room. No room fridge, but ice machine by lifts meant we could keep milk fresh in the ice bucket. Highly recommend the rooftop bar & the hotel in general.

Michael Jordans Steak Bar in Grand Central is very good . As it Havana Central restaurent, not sure what the street is.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay here on another visit to New York - everyone was very helpful and considwerate.

Its a good spot, but the staff aren't very helpful when it comes to requests. We wanted an extra bed which they can do but wouldn't agree to it. Just basic requests ignored - not prepared to see what they could do in a half full hotel, And don't drink in the bar unless ur loaded!

the room was a bit small and the sight from the windo is another building, but very clean! walking distance to every thing. got an upgrade as we stayed an extra night! i would recommend it to any one travelling to new york for shopping or sight seeing

The Sour-faced and unhelpful staff seem to be begging for tips all the time. Room was rather clean except for "clean" towels with long hairs on them (neither of us have long hair) and it's difficult to get extra toilet products. We were woken up by cleaning lady at 8 am, which we did not appreciate. The doorman swore at us when we decided to take a taxi across the street rather than one assigned by him that was more expensive (they seem to get commission on everything). Good location though.

Visited NY for the first time earlier this month. The hotel is in a great location, walking distance to all parts of midtown, shopping on Fifth ave, Times Square etc. Room was well maintained, with all the usual services readily available. Will definitely use again when we return and have no problem recommending to friends and family for both business and leisure visits.

I think the title says it all. We had made reservations for a double double room but on arrival, and despite protestations, all they had was a king room with a roll away bed. Had no choice but to acceept the room from the rude and unhelpfull desk clerk. Despite requesting the roll away bed three times it never arrivede untill we returned to our room at 4 in the morning...and only after i had to go back to reception and make a fourth request for one. Nice lobby and good location but would not recommend this hotel for any other reason!!!!!!!!

We stayed in the Roosevelt for 8 nights and I have to say that I really enoyed it. When we arrived we had to wait for 3 hours because our room was not ready until 3pm. Wasn`t a problem at all. We left our luggage at the hotel and went out for a nice walk. When we came back we checked in properly and we got upgraded to a Kings bedroom because all Queens were booked. Bed was very comfi, staff very friendly and located is just great. 10 minutes walk to times square and Grand central station next door. I can only recommend this hotel and I don`t know why other reviewers think its not 3.5 stars. I matches the hotel perfectly.
