We have just celebrated my wifes 50th birthday in New York and guided by these sort of reviews we picked an absolute peach of a hotel. Between 5th Avenue and Broadway the locationof the hotel is excellent, central and believe it or not quiet despite all that is going on around. We received a complementary upgrade to the 26th floor with a superb view of the Chrysler Building and other landmarks. We also received a New York Cheescake in our room wishing my wife a happy birthday. It's these sorts of touches that make a holiday memorable and Sofitel got this absolutely right. The room was comfortable and cleaned daily - we couldn't find fault with it. All the staff we came into contact with desk staff, concierge, door staff and room staff were polite and helpful at all times.
"Best bed ever!"by J from Warwick, UK
The only complaint I have about this hotel is the size of rooms, although this is common throughout Manhattan. Great service, bed etc..
"Great Hotel Great Location Good NY Base"by K from Essex
We stayed in a Luxury King and the room was lovely. 400 sq ft, marble bathroom with seperate shower and bath, 37 inch widescreen tv, comfy king bed which was sooo soft it was unreal. Room service is a bit expensive but only to be expected from a top class hotel. Concerige were brillant, full of information and always willing to help. This hotel was two blocks from Times Square, perfect location for being in NY. Most things easily walked to from this hotel except Soho, Little Italy, Wall Street areas etc. For a good breakfast there is a great diner on the same road as the hotel (front entrance not back). All in all a great hotel, you could not be disappointed if you stayed here.

"One of the best"by S from Ireland
Knew this hotel was rated highly but was very impressed with everything, especially for the price. For us it was the best location possible in a super city, and the large comfortable rooms for this price are rare.

"Best hotel experience-great location-comfortable beds!"by L from West Yorkshire
We stayed at the Sofitel for the timesquare new years eve celebrations so the location was fantastic- The room was big, clean, well designed, the bed was the most comfortable i've slept in and its the only holiday that we didn't want to come home from, and staying at the Sofitel played a large part in this. Definately recommend this hotel. Only -ve point was the room service breakfast which was $60 and not worth it at all, try the deli's instead.
"Perfect location for a very comfortable hotel"by R from London
Second stay here and was impressed again by the hotel - very comfortable rooms, flat screen TV, BOSE sound system and very comfortable bed.
"Beautiful hotel"by d from dublin
My wife and i stayed in the sofitel, New york for 5 nights in november. First impression of the hotel was what a great choice we have made. The hotel lobby was very impressive. Room was lovely. It was spotless clean with beautiful white linen on the bed. Location was excellent, between fifth and sixth avenue. We did not have breakfast in the hotel as it was quite expensive, but we went each morning to the Red Flame diner which was only a few doors from the hotel. There you receive a substantial breakfast and wonderful new york hospitality. Would highly recommend the sofitel. We will be back
