"Perfect central Manhattan location at reasonable price"by P from Sheffield, UK
It would be hard to better this hotel at this price in central Manhattan. The rooms and hotel in general was impeccably clean, a great shower, comfortable bed, good TV, and - most helpful - free wi-fi internet access. Little touches such as free NY Times and little chocolate provided daily were a nice touch (though, curiously, these stopped halfway through my 9-night stay). A nice reception room, with TV, sofas, newspapers, and computer with free hi-speed internet connection. Front of desk staff were always friendly and helpful. Incredibly the room was always quiet, which was surprising given the location. Breakfast was good but quite expensive so I generally made use of the numerous cafes in the area. Subway stations close, but I found I walked most places - both uptown and downtown. Highly recommended.

"A little gem in mid-town Manhatten for the budget traveller"by L from Lincoln
This little gem is excellent value for money, easy to get to from either JFK or Newark Liberty International airports. We went for the basic bunk beds, with shared facilities and weren't disappointed. The beds were really comfortable and the room was spotlessly clean; maid service is provided every day when fresh towels are supplied. We shared a bathroom; there were four on our floor, all of which were also really clean and we didn't have to wait at all during our stay to use the bathroom facilities (rooms are provided with a light system to indicate when facilities are available for use). The staff were really helpful and very friendly. Our room was really quiet being located on the side of the hotel away from the road. This was the second year running that we'd stayed at this hotel and it lived up to all our expectations. The Pod Hotel is conveniently located just fifteen minutes walk away from the delights of 5th Avenue and Central Park. The subway is close by on 51st Street and 53rd Street. We took the bus from Newark Liberty Airport to Grand Central Station (41st and Lexington) and walked with our cases to 51st Street which took around 15 minutes. I would highly recommend this hotel for all those looking for value for money.
"very clean very central very happy"by m from london
the room was perfect for me, a budget traveller not wanting to stay in a hostel, wanting my own room, clean facilities, central location (easy to get to jfk on subway and airtrain) subway nearby. room was small but only for sleeping and storing my stuff in. the safe was a good idea and easy to use. would def recommend!
"Hotel to recommend"by B from Luxembourg
Sure, the room is not so big but it has all comfort and it is really practical. And the hotel has a very good location. This was a very good value for the price and I would not hesitate to return there and recommend it to everybody. I also liked the atmosphere, any kind of people goes there, young, old, rich or not.
"Excellent hotel"by S from Poole, Dorset
This was my 2nd stay in The Pod and i was not disappointed. 1st time was a girlie shopping trip. We had a bunk room with shared bath. Room was small but suited us fine. Very clean and tidy. Always a t least 1 bathroom free and these were always immaculate. Just got back from a trip with my boyfriend and we had a double room. Again small but did the job. You definitely need to be on v intimate terms for the bathrooms in these though! The shower just had a clear glass door separating it from the bedroom. Overall a safe bet in a great location for a good price.
"Excellent value for money"by S from London
I stayed in a single room at Pod Hotel NY for 6 days in January 2009. The single rooms are small, but fine for one person. Shared bathroom was always free and has excellent power shower. Heating basic but effective (I was most concerened about this as NY was bitter cold during the week I stayed!). Hotel is a couple of blocks/5 minutes walk from nearest Subway. All in all, if your a single traveller on a budget in NY, the Pod is a great option.
"Excellent budget hotel"by S from London
We recently stayed at the POD hotel for 4 nights while looking for a flat in NYC and we were pleasantly surprised by the hotel. We share a bunk-bed room and the room itself is quite small but well equipped and very clean. We didn't really know what to expect from the shared bathroom but it turned out to be perfectly fine. It was cleaned very frequently and well stocked. The location of the hotel is extremely convenient, there are a few good restaurants downstairs including a Thai restaurant which I went to several times during my stay. Its a short walk to subway station and grocery stores etc. Highly recommended to budget travellers to NYC!
