Small room but brilliantly equipped with things you don't necessarily get in 5 star hotels: coffee machine, iron and ironing board, safe, shampoos, flannels etc in bathroom, bathrobe. Extremely helpful front desk staff. Very well located for shops and good cafes - try Cafe Select for excellent brunches. Would definitely recommend for short stays.

I have been to new york a few times before and stayed in midtown/uptown manhattan. This time i wanted an area accessiable to all areas of manhattan with a great choice of cafes and bars as we were four girls travelling. The location was great with a cheap diner opposite for french toast or pancakes every morning and chinatown a stones throw for a rip off designer clutch! The room was just about adequate for four sharing with a good sized bathroom. I would definitely return to the hotel and strongly recomend it.

I have been to New york twice before and have always stayed in Midtown and decided to try a different area this time. The location was good, slap bang in the middle of Little Italy, Soho and China Town and a 2 minute walk from the Subway on Canal Street. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and a decent size. I have read other reviews of this hotel that said the room was poky but compared to the other 2 hotels I have stayed in whilst in New York the room was quite large. My only critiscism was that the room had 2 double beds, which weren't really big enough for 2 people and I found myself sleeping a a seperate bed to my boyfriend for more room. Unless a porter and a restaurant are important to you, this hotel is a good stay. I would recommend it and have done so already to my brother who is going in March.

Really enjoyed our stay in the Big Apple and the hotel was in a great location for exploring Manhatten, The room was comfortable, clean and the bathroom had a very good shower, I would visit the hotel again but not with my children as the room was very small and there wasn't much room for the luggage, however, if you are on a budget and you don't have loads of baggage it's doable. The service was good. If your looking for breakfast there is a diner opposite but this can work out expensive if you have a family, we found the Jubilee food market, left out of the hotel to the junction of Broadway cross at the lights turn left and the market is a little way down on the right, this is a deli, so you can get cereal etc sit in but not have to pay the tipping fee, half the price of the diner, you can find loads of these places in Manhatten if you want to set off and explore straight away. Make sure you have your metro map as we found the underground a bit complicated, but people would help us and without asking sometimes, people were very helpful and polite. Basically a fantastic holiday, get your COMFORTABLE walking shoes on and enjoy yourself. If it's raining and you have kids the American Natural History Museum is a good place to go.

My father booked this hotel for me whilst I was travelling the US after doing summer camp. The location was great, the staff could not have been more helpful. The room had two double beds for my fellow traveller and I and it was great value also. The places to eat near by and proximity to major attractions was fantastic. I loved it and would gladly recommend it to anyone visiting New York
