Good location but overpriced

Hotel is classy and well located... many shopping opportunities in the area. Service at the hotel was okay, but seems like it's more of a turist attraction than servicing the staying guests. Rooms are average - superior room was NOT worth the pay!

Can't wait to go stay again

From the second you walk in to the fantastic lobby, the Waldorf lives up to its reputation. Our room wasn't ready when we arrived, but after a complimentary drink and a little more waiting we were upgraded to a suite. Bathroom looked small but the fittings were fine and I loved the washtand. We had a dressing room/sitting room the size of the bedroom which was wonderful Can't wait ti stay here again. The staff were helpful and made us feel special. Spend your monet on this wonderful hotel- it's worth it, to come back from wandering round NYC to such opulent surroundings.

Great experience

Beautiful hotel. Our room was very comfortable, clean and we always had plenty of hot water. Staff were very helpful, even gave us a brolly when it rained. The concierge was extremely helpful, he checked us in online and printed our airline tickets for our onward journey. Safety deposit area was staffed 24 hrs a day and was free. The lady working there that dealt with us was very nice to deal with and very helpful also. The only disappointment was our meal in the Bull and Bear..my meal was over cooked/dry, my husband's was lovely, but we were not charged for my meal or for 2 glasses of wine. I would have no hesitation in recommending this beautiful hotel and hope to return.

Well situated

Have stayed there before, and found rooms can be variable in quality. This time, had a corner room, which was very bright and comfortable. Staff very helpful.

timeless elegance

Had a fantastic stay, everthing you imagined it would be like. Bed sheets turned for our arrival back before bed, room service very quick. Fantastic.... can not wait to go back again. Only negative was some of the bathroom fittings were broken.

Great for a New York break

Stunning hotel in superb location. Hotel is so big that service at reception and concierge is often very slow because of massive queues. Eating and drinking in hotel is very expensive, but breakfasts are great. Bedrooms are very well appointed.

as you might expect

Famous hotel, lived up to its reputation. Location couldn't have been better for our first trip to New York. Wonderful lobby and public rooms - the Xmas decorations were beautiful. Staff friendly, helpful and professional. Our room overlooked Park Avenue and so was a little bit noisy - taxi horns and sirens, but hey, that's New York!

Like staying on the Titanic

We had booked a double twin. When we checked in it was not available. We were compensated with Breakfast each morning(which was Fab). The hotel staff were excellent. The decor was kept very well as this is an old Hotel but we felt in no way showed it's age in a bad way. The beds were extremely comfortable. The location was second to none. This Hotel is full of old world opulance and lived up to my every expectation. I would highly recomend this hotel and will only stay here when I return

You pay for the name only

Well the service was poor, the rooms and bathrooms dated, the management slow to respond to complaints... and the beauty saloon is outsourced to a company that charges huge amounts of money for below average treatments.
