see all hotels in Midtown"Great value location"by M from London
As discussed by many, this place has an amazing location and is very good value. The rooms are obviously small, at this price they'd have to be. There are some good places to eat and drink in Hell's Kitchen, near the theatre district, and some places have good deals.
"OK for short stays"by S from Kildare, Ireland
Travel Inn is centrally located so ideal for walking to Times Square. The hotel is fine as a base for 1 or 2 nights.Rooms were clean, bathroom extremely small-tight space for showering. One elevator wasn't working while we were there so demand was high for the other.
"Will definitely go back"by I from UK
The value for the money is excellent. It is definitely way above the 2 stars. The rooms are really big (two huge beds, fridge, armchairs, writing table, side table etc) and very very clean. The bathroom is quite small but very clean. The cleaners change towels/shower gels/shampoos etc daily so it all is very clean and comfy. they have an open air pool (couldn't use it as it was cold outside, but it looked nice and clean) and a decent workout room. The front desk staff was very nice and helpful, looking up information, calling taxis etc. The hotel doesn't have a restaurant, but the cafe next door offers excellent food at good prices. However, we only had breakfast there, so I don't know about their other courses. It is 3 streets (5-10 mins walk) away from Times Square, so it all looked quite safe in the night time. we didn't have any problems at all, although we walked back at 11-12 at night. A little downside, if you're traveling by car: they do have a car park but i saw that the guards weren't always in the security room, so I wouldn't leave my key with them, as other people can have access to this room. Apart from that, it all looked very safe. In conclusion, I would definitely recommend this hotel and I will go back the next time I come to NYC.
"Good location"by H from Southampton
The hotel was in a very convenient location. The rooms were small but adaquate. Good value all round.
"Better than its two star rating"by D from Harrow, Middx.
Just got back from a 5 night trip to New York with my wife and 3 grown up children. We needed a decent hotel for a reasonable price and this one ticked all the boxes. Very good location 5 mins walk from Times square, 10 mins from Empire State Building. Although rated only 2 star we were impressed with the overall look of the hotel inside. Rooms were typically American with large beds, cable tv, fridge and microwave, iron/ironing board and hairdryer. Surprisingly for a 2 star there was a pool, mini gym and room service available. There is a deli connected to the hotel where we had a great breakfast each morning. The only negative thing that I can comment on was that our room was on the road side and was a bit noisy. The reason I rated the quality of service as 3 was that the day we arrived the guy on the check-in desk was not particularly cheerful.
""Perfect Location""by K from Dublin
This hotel was perfect for us NYC virgins.... took less than 5 mins to walk to the heart of Time Square. Totally safe area with very helpful staff. Rooms are basic but clean. Didn't use the pool though as it was slightly cold outside! But in Summer time i'm sure it would be very handy to have!!
"Good - standard - central - accomodation"by g from oxford
We came from England and stayed here on 06/11/08 for 3 days and as cheap hotels go you couldnt ask for better. The accomodation was clean and friendly with well sized rooms with a large fridge and microwave the bathroom wasn't great but was still ok. The location is brilliant with times square two blocks away so you really are central to everything and best of all its opposite a police station so the area is safe. Try the westside diner just up one block and turn left its the best diner we found all the locals and cops dine there so you know its gonna be good !!!! They also serve a mean breakfast which you will need for a day of shopping. There are also a few local irish bars with great atmospheres and cheaper drinks we paid $15 for three beers at The Celtic Bar but as much as $30 for the same round down in the village. Anyway great trip, and the hotel is definetly recommended.
"Lovely Hotel quite well located Definitely will return"by D from Dublin Ireland
The hotel offered us two double beds for the price of a double room. Very handy for two friends traveling instead of a twin room. The bathroom was large, well lit and very clean so was the room It was two blocks from Port Authority three from Times Square and although was a longer walk than other hotels it suited us perfectly It was quiet with a police station right across from it The staff were nice if you spoke to them but really left you to your own devices Has a place to leave your bags on check out day Overall Im a satisfied customer
"A place to crash in a great location"by G from Nottinghamshire
Stayed at this hotel in Sept 08 and wasn't surprised by the ratings. It is a good priced, good location, bug free, slightly shabby motel type hotel. Our room was right next to the pool and we kept the air con running to drowned out the noise of other residents who had to pass our room to get to theirs. However if you want to be 10 mins from Time Square, in a safe area without the constant noise and you don't want to pay a small fortune then this is for you.
"great location and free parking"by n from bedford, uk
We (my wife and I and two teenage daughters) stayed three nights at this hotel and it was great. The location is superb just five minutes walk from Times Square. Parking is great too and the hotel is easy to find even for an out of towner!!! The room was good, though the bathroom was very small. The only complaint was that the sink was cracked - yuck!
