Make use of the v.cheap and very reliable public transport. We only had a 3-day trip and managed to visit a different beach each day. There's a beach/port, which is a 15min walk away and Torremelinos (30mins) and Fuengirola (1hr) are easy to get to on the Renfe.

La Alcazaba is well worth a visit - as are the Botanic Gardens some 4kms. out of Malaga. The journey is possible by bus, but the walk from the terminus takes 15 minutes or so, and I only found the Gardens thanks to the bus driver.

Try the lamb shoulder and chips at Restaurante Galicia in nearby Calle Cuarteles or maybe tapas at Restaurante Mensula in Calle Trinidad Grund 28, both less than a five minute walk away from the hotel. The main market is closed for massive restoration at present.

My husband and I went on a 4 day break to Malaga. we chose this hotel because of its good publicity and convenient location to the train and bus stations. We planned to travel to Granada from Malaga for a spot of sight seeing. This did not happen because Malaga was so full of museums, historical sights and such a general good feel to the place that we stayed in the town. We did venture to Torremolinos, a 30 minute train ride and a world away, but okay in November. We will go back. Next time we may try to hire an apartment. Although we had the room and the hotel was good we missed the balcony and bottle of wine .

Like most of the European Hotels no services..no bell captain...no parking(very expensive in the area)
