A short guide to Malaga

One of Spain’s biggest ports and the provincial capital, Malaga’s city centre has undergone a major facelift in recent years to attract many tourists who would usually pass straight to the local resorts. The historic centre features narrow streets surrounding the iconic lopsided cathedral. Plaza Merced is the birthplace of artist Pablo Picasso. Above it all sits the hilltop fortress of the Alcazaba.

"Good location"  by D from Glasgow

Spent 3 nights here on a golf break and couldn't really fault it. The location is great with all the restaurants and shopping within a 10 minute walk. I found the room to be a little on the small side but it had all you need: TV, Fridge/Mini-bar (4 complimentary soft drinks), En-suite, Safe. Even though it was December I found the room to be very warm and the AC unit didn't really help much so I had to have the window open and there was a bit of street noise. The staff were all friendly and helpful although you may have to wait a little to get served at the bar if it's quiet. The lounge is nice and light and you can catch a game of football if there's one on the local TV stations (but don't worry it's not a sports bar or anything - fine for the family). One thing... when driving to the hotel try not to overshoot the place or you'll be over the bridge and have to circle round about a mile before you can get back.

"A hidden secret in Malaga"  by s from Birmingham

A very glamrous looking Malaga Centro hotel, with a marble reception, with an nice yellow decorative background including sparkling light fittings and a very posh sitting room with a large plasma screen. The staff are very welcoming and can all speak english, which is a very good starting point. When requiring directions to any part of Malaga, a map and the best route to get there was always offered. The room i stayed in had a small fridge and was equipped with free drinks every day, towels were changed evryday unless not requested. The bathroom alos was had the marble effect and the corridors also were painted in yellow wiht red carpet. Had a sdlight problem wihtg the card to enter the room and this was changed immediately. The rooftop pool is small but it offers a quiet space to read, sun bathe or to take in the scenery from your hotel epscially at night when the catheral ligths come on. Oh nearly fogot they also have a mini gym, all these facilities are free. I only had beverages at the hotel there i cannot comment on the foood, but there are plenty of places dine out in the evening or to have breakfast if you fancy a chnge from hotel food. The hotel is about a 15 minute walk to the beach, but there is plenty to see and lots of shopping that be done. I would definetly go back and stay at Centro Malaga if I was going on holiday or for business purposes as they accommodate both of htese areas.
