Great hotel on the edge of Santa Cruz . Tourist life in one direction and local color in the other. Well run hotel. Easy walk anywhere in old Sevilla. Cool.

Loads of Tappas bars 4 cheap tasty food, wine, beers, coffee & fresh orange juice, try them all, leave the hotel food for the bored! Best eating in ages! April was 24-28c,not too many tourists but I would not attempt in summer. The streets did get busy but manageable. Additional tourists, the narrow streets & the heat of a summers day (40c)could be very uncomfortable. Even in April there were queues for the sights. Go out of season if you can & see the real Seville, well worth it!

There were some important bull fights going on at the Sevilla bullring, which I think is the oldest and most prestigous one in the world. We bought tickets off of someone on the street, but the price was what was printed on the ticket. The fights were really interesting, not as hard to watch as I anticipated and the crowd was fascinating. I'd do that again in a heartbeat! We went to a Flamenco Show that was recommended and arranged by the hotel desk - it was excellent!

Seville is not set out like Barcelona or New York, in the old quarter it is a maze of tiny streets many one way and the hotel is just off one of these streets in a pedestrian area. Just look out for a pedestrian sign and mount the kerb and park there. The hotel is very close by at this point and they will park the vehicle for you. Hotel very pleasant but our room was rather dark but well situated for all the sites and restaurants etc

If you're going to Spain for a weekend, don't forget that on Monday nothing is open and most shops are closed on Sunday or Tuesday as well. As such you might want to go over a Thursday to Sunday rather than a Saturday to Tuesday.
