Description

Location. The Adolphus Hotel is located in Dallas, Texas, and stands one-half mile from the Dallas World Aquarium, the Dallas Farmers Market and the Dallas Museum of Art. The Sixth Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza is three blocks from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The French Room chefs prepare neo-classic cuisine in a fine-dining atmosphere with crystal chandeliers, domed ceilings, and cherub-adorned murals. This formal-attire restaurant is open for dinner Tuesday though Saturday evenings. Reservations are required. The Bistro and the Walt Garrison Rodeo Bar & Grill offer all-day dining from menus that feature Texas favorites. Afternoon tea is served in the Lobby Living Room amid Queen Anne furnishings. Positioned in the Lobby Living Room, an 1893 Victorian Steinway piano was formerly owned by the Guggenheims. More than 24,000 square feet of function space includes the 5,300-square-foot Grand Ballroom. A staffed business center houses six computer stations and offers a full range of business services. A gift shop stocks everything from whimsical tea pots to premium cigars. The 24-hour fitness center contains cardiovascular and weight-training equipment.

Guestrooms. The Adolphus Hotel offers 422 accommodations distributed on 23 floors. Guestrooms include antique furnishings, separate sitting areas and walk-in closets. Beds feature pillowtop mattresses, 250-thread count cotton sheets, feather pillows and French-designed bedspreads. Marble bathrooms contain deep bathtubs and separate showers, or shower/tub combinations. Bathrooms feature curved shower rods, rain-forest showerheads, makeup mirrors and brass-accented fixtures. Rooms include 32-inch, flat-screen televisions, DVD and CD players, and complimentary high-speed wired and wireless Internet access.

Expert Tip. Built in 1912 by Adolphus Busch, this Baroque-style hotel houses a museum-quality art collection that includes European lithographs, engravings and early Flemish tapestries. Also of note, letters from former guests that include the Queen of England and Dr. Seuss are displayed behind a glass case in the Living Room Lounge.

Most Gracious Hotel

Very close to American Airline center for events and concerts and also within walking distance to arts and historical districts.

One of the three restaurants was closed, another required a jacket and the third was just okay.

Bring a jacket.

Very good hotel, Not so good room service

Ask to have the Adolphus driver drop you off at your local destination... even with a generous tip, it beats paying for a cab in Dallas.

Beautiful and historic hotel in Downtown Dallas

With such significance in History, the site of the JFK assasination and the Museum is well worth a visit being only a few blocks from the hotel. Food and bars for people not knowing the area are best around West side. Certainly recomend the Y.O Steakhouse and the buffalo steak in particular. Excellent

Beautiful old hotel

I'd advise skipping their restaurants. Got wonderful seafood dinner in the Dallas Fish Market a block away, Wonderful unrushed service, too. Riskeys in Ft. Worth has the best barbecue around. It's a 40-minute drive.

Great Digs in Dallas

The 6th Floor Museum at Dealey Plaza was well worth the time and money. My wife's a Texan and is from Dallas and though she wasn't on this trip, she has me trained to seek out "real Texas barbeque". I'm happy to say I found Sonny Bryan's, a 98 year old shop 3 or 4 blocks from Dealey Plaza. I'd read reviews of Downtown Dallas saying there were no restaurants near the Adolphus. Not true. There were a number of them within a short walking distance.

Absolutely Gorgeous

The hotel is nicely situated in the downtown area. The airport is about 20-30 minutes away. Neiman Marcus and a Starbucks are within walking distance. Northpark Center is about 15 minutes away and a wonderful restuarant (Fuse) is within walking distance. And the House of Blues is about 7 minutes away (driving). Great location!

Nice hotel

Stayed in a Jr. Suite - nice large room. Room was clean and well appointed. The only downside is the rooms, although still nice, are beginning to be a little dated and may need to be refurbished soon. (although the bathroom is tiled with marble etc. the tub seemed to be a 1970s vintage brown metal tub - it works the way they have it designed though). It would also be nice to have the toilet in its own closet instead of the toilet, tub, and sink all in the same room. All was clean. Sheets on bed are a high thread count. The staff was friendly and helpful and never had any issues in our 4 night stay. I certainly would stay here again.
