I was satisfied with the hotel; it was a reasonable price. It is located a block off Seawall Blvd, so it is a convenient 5-10 minute walk to the beach. The beach is a nice, sandy beach with lifeguards. Bathroom was a good size. Bathroom cleanliness was adequate; just mildrew in the corners. Breakfast was the typical continental breakfast with predominantly baked items, but plentiful. Eating area was small and not cleaned on a regular basis. I would recommend more staff attention. Overall, it was a good hotel for the money, and I would recommend with the cavets above.

My kids loved the Rain Forest Cafe. Not the best food but the atmosphere was great. Can get very expensive with the Rain Forest Ride and the gift shop. Expect to purchase the Volcano Dessert if your child sees it delivered to another table. Brownie, ice cream, and a sparkler. What's not to love. Its big enough for 6 people.

Hotel is hard to get to. Get good directions before getting to Galveston. You can see it but only two ways to get in to it.

My husband and I took our two boys for a weekend and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Baymont. The staff was very friendly and our room was always clean. As far as location, it is within walking distance to the beach and near a variety of fast food places and restaurants. It is also very close to Moody Gardens and Schlitterbahn. Some comments I read prior to booking this hotel said it was hard to find. Although it is tucked away (behind Golden Coral), we didn't have any trouble finding it. I had considered staying at hotels with a higher star rating, but am glad we didn't. We were very happy with the location and our stay there. We will definitely stay at Baymont again when we go back.

It was a newer hotel so it still had the new smell but our room had a very strong bleach smell to it. other then that it was close to everything. walking distance to the beach to the ice cream shop.

Room was clean and comfortable, very spacious -- didn't use pool or any amenities. Did the continental breakfast one morning -- food was okay, but the dining space was much too small for the size of the hotel. But since we were there to see Galveston (and not the hotel) it was fine -- I'd stay there again.

The Rainforest Cafe was a great family experience but be prepared to drop some cash in that place. I will definately get the Volocano dessert next time. Was too full this time.
