We arrived at SAT from the UK at 11.30 pm. After collecting our luggage we we able to use the payphone at the airport to make a free call to the hotel to request that the shuttle bus collect us. It was there within moments. When we arrived at the hotel, the driver found us a trolley for our vast amounts of luggage. The receptionist offered us a choice of bedrooms, we explained that we hadn't slept for 24 hours and were exhausted and would like a quiet room. She honoured this request and gave us 2 bags of warm cookies. When we arrived at our room we were very impressed with the quality of the furnishings. We were hungry so looked for a room service menu but were unable to find one. We telephoned room service and asked what was available for us. We were told that only sandwiches were available, either chicken or ham. We asked for one of each and were informed that this would be with us in 25 minutes. Ten minutes later the sandwiches were delivered. Quite literally one chicken and one ham sandwich amounting to a total of 4 slices of wholemeal bread, 2 slices of chicken, 2 slices of ham and a few potato crisps. On the tray were a selection of tiny bottles of mayonnaise and tomato ketchup. The bill came to $25.00 including a $2 delivery charge. The sandwiches were nothing special and we were most surprised that we would be charged this amount.” 15/04/2009
