Would definitely stay here again

Our room was very nice & clean. We had a great view of the Alamo and the Tower of the Americas. The pool is small, but so nice on the roof top. We enjoyed the evening up there just sitting and listening to music. It was beautiful. We only ate one meal at the hotel restaurant. We had the buffet. It was good. Shopping at the Rivercenter Mall is very close and has several stores. We loved staying on the Riverwalk. We asked for a wake up call and actually had a real-live person make the call, not a recording. We had left our privacy card on the door all day and the housekeeping staff called us late in the afternoon to see if we needed towels or anything else. I don't recall ever having that happen before. The staff were all very friendly.

Hotel and restaurant staff

Don't bother renting a car for local travel. The city transit system is excellent. I only rented a car because I wanted to tour the hill country which is best seen with a rented car.

Perfect location

A CVS is located a few steps away from the Hyatt and offers a cheaper way to purchase beverages and snacks (especially for the kids).

Great hotel!

Great location - strongly recommended!Great location. The rooms were spacious and comfortable. The service was outstanding. Our room was a little warm but our children's room was perfect.

A Great View of the Alamo

Must see and does: ++ Fiesta Noche Del Rio (May - Aug): Open air theater, proceeds go to children's activities sponsored by the KIWANIS club. ++ Mi Tierra, Great food and atmosphere, loved the wandering singers, good bakery too. + Tower of the Americas, the 4D movie is GREAT! + Landry's Seafood, on the river walk turn left. + Hard Rock Cafe River Tour was very informative.

Confusing!

The hotel is nice but there were a few things that did not suit my family. The beds were uncomfortable to us. The elevators are very confusing because you have to take more than 1 to get to the River Walk. The roof top pool was very small and uninviting. The overall quality of the room was good but I think we will choose another hotel for our next trip.

Wow what a view!

Excellent location directly on the Riverwalk and could not believe how close to the Alamo it was. Service friendly & efficient - it is worth opting for Valet parking.

A Great Place to Stay

This hotel is VERY conveniently located -- right on the riverwalk and directly across the street from the Alamo. Everything is within walking distance (including the convention center). Lots of nightlife right outside the door -- no need for a single traveler to worry about getting back to her hotel at night-- but nothing that intrudes into the hotel to spoil a peaceful night's sleep. The perfect hotel for a family vacation (if you can afford it) or a business traveler.

Walk to it all

This is a great place to see and walk to anything and everything in downtown SanAntonio. To the front of the hotel you can see Alamo, a couple of blocks over is the RiverCenter mall,or you can leave out the back, directly onto to the Riverwalk. Any restaurant you can imagine, shops, the mall, even a drugstore. The hotel itself is nice without being intimidating, staff is friendly, views of downtown, or the riverwalk. ( We had a view of the Tower of the Americas, really nice at night!) Everything was sleek and comfortable( 6 pillows !). The only draw back was a smaller than expected bathroom.
