Description

Location. City Nites is located in Birmingham, England, in a quiet residential area 100 metres from the National Indoor Arena and the International Convention Centre, and 300 metres from the boutique shops and entertainments of Brindley Place and Broad Street. Birmingham New Street railway station is 700 metres away, and Birmingham Airport is eight miles away.
Hotel Features. City Nites is a five-storey block of short and long-stay suites. The front desk in the lobby offers express check-in, concierge and laundry services, and a safe-deposit box. There is wireless Internet throughout. Staff will unpack grocery orders placed for the date of arrival, and secure parking is complimentary.

The suites are equipped for self-catering. A continental breakfast can be served to rooms on payment of a surcharge. City Nites recommends restaurants The Bank and Strada, both in nearby Brindley Place.

City Nites offers basic business and secretarial services to residents.

Residents can use the Health Club in neighbouring Brindley Place at discounted rates. Facilities include a swimming pool, sauna, steam room and gym.

Guestrooms. The 23 suites at City Nites comprise a large double bedroom, bathroom, and an open plan lounge/dining room and kitchen. All have contemporary minimalist decor in creams and browns, and large windows. Further amenities include satellite television, CD and DVD players, direct-dial phones, and wireless Internet.

Expert Tip. Birmingham is home to many entertainment centres and theatres; highly recommended is Birmingham Repertory Theatre, which produces in-house shows and receives productions from elsewhere. It can be found on Broad Street, close to a host of restaurants.

From Birmingham International Airport (BHX):
Distance to City Nites Birmingham is 8 miles, approximately 25 minutes' drive.

Getting there. A free Skyrail monorail runs every couple of minutes from Terminal 1 to Birmingham's International train station and the city's National Exhibition Centre (NEC). A train then runs from the International station to New Street station, 700 metres from City Nites. Black cabs are available 24 hours a day from an official rank in front of the airport passenger terminals. The fare to the city centre is approximately 18 GBP and to City Nites around 25 GBP. Shuttles run every 30 minutes into the city centre. Buses link the surrounding areas to the airport. Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. There is an extensive bus and train network in Birmingham city centre, and a tram runs between Birmingham and Wolverhampton. The centre can easily be explored by foot.

Driving directions. From north or south on the M6, exit at Junction 6 to Birmingham Central.
Follow the signs for A456, ICC and NIA.
On reaching Broad Street, take the first right at the Novotel Hotel.
Go straight across the first roundabout, at the second take the third exit, then the first left into Edward Street.
Park opposite the first road on the left, Townsend Way, where City Nites is located.

Great idea if your staying for a few days...

A great idea for someone who travels a lot and wants something that feels a bit more like home! More space and a proper kitchen so you can cook descent food rather than takeaways and restaurant meals!

Would recommend

The apartment was well maintained and clean the facilities were more than I expected. a real home from home. There was even a roof terrace, which was lovely but wasn't able to make use of it, due to the poor weather. I would certainly recommend City Nites.

Fantastic place to stay

We found the apartment easily and were able to park in their secure car park (10 pounds fee for overnight). Apartment kitchen was superbly equipped - everything we needed, including microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, all crocks and cutlery - even a cheese grater! Not much storge space - but absolutely adequate for a couple of "city nites"! Brilliant alternative to a hotel room, would certainly book again. Staff very helpful. 5 mins walk to Brindley Place / Canals / ICC and then just 5 mins to Broad Street - location is perfect.
