Inattentive service; overpriced drinks

At a wedding cash bar: a double vodka cranberry was over 12 quid - 2.75 of which was for the mixer! Service was appalling. Hotel not well kept. Not dirty as such but tatty and uncared for.

It's a little worn out

It's in a nice location and was probably a very nice hotel 5 years ago but stains on the carpets and other obvious signs of wear and tear let this hotel down. A palace it is not. Also breakfast selection is poor and dissappointing. Service was excellent. If you are going to pay this sort of money stay at another hotel.

Utterly dissapointed

I was travelling and working from very early morning, so when I arraived at the hotel I was pretty tired. Bt 14:15, no one at the front desk to check in (no bells or buzzer to get attention by the way), so I waited for 15-20 mins, then I had to call the hotel from in front of the front desk for checking in. I have never had this service at 4 star hotel. In the room, few lads called me asking their friends....wrong room number...at night and in the next early morning. When I went out for dinner (I decided not to spend any penny at this hotel), I deposited my room key on the way out, so on the way in needed to have my key; the front desk was on the phone, yes, again I waited for 10 mins to get my room key.......just lovely lovely experience I had at this hotel. I definately choose other hotels.

Not going again

If you like reading in bed, bring a torch. Lighting gloomy in a Gothic sort of way.

Lovely, but not great on the details...

The lansdowne is a great hotel, but for 4*s you expect things to work... showers in the spa broken, headrests in the spa broken, soap dispensors always empty... these little things really affect what could be a great experience.
