Quality Hotel Cardiff

Superb hotel. The one and only criticism would be that my wife and I returned from a day's sightseeing at 20.10 anticipating a lovely dip in the pool (the temperature had been 28C) only to find the leisure facilities closed at 20.00.

Nice hotel and area

There's a castle nearby (Castell Coch) which resides in a nice forest. This has hiking or running trails all over the place. This is about a 10 minute jog from the hotel. Awesome outdoors experience.

Fantastic hotel

Was quiet on the weekend we went and we had a fantastic time at the hotel. Clean, quiet and very friendly. I look forward to the next time we have cause to visit Cardiff on business, we will certainly be staying here again. Whilst I was busy at work on the Sunday, the hotel kindly allowed my wife to stay and use the hotel facilities until I got back, which was well after the official check out time. Great place.

Clean the bathroom!

For what it is, the Quality Hotel is fine. tThe staff are relatively polite, although not overly helpful; the room is functional, if not particularly pleasant to spend any great time in, but the major problem with my stay was the state of the bathroom. Although the bathroom itself was relatively modern, you could smell the damp as soon as you opened the hotel room door and there was a small pool of water on the bathroom floor whenwe arrived that was still there when we left the next day.

After trying a few around Cardiff this is by far the friendliest

The hotel is ideal for a business stay and definitily my preference. For the price this is well equipt with a spa and pool and is in easly reach of cardiff and Brecon Becons. The staff are friendly and always willing to help (in my experience around a few Cardiff hotels this was definitely a novelty). The Food is to a good standard and menu changes on a weekly basis. Rooms are clean and tidy although limited TV channels on offer.

another hotel

when are hotels going to stop serving factory food. when are british people going to take a pride in service why don't big hotels give young people the opportunity to set up and run their own businesses through outsourcing the bar the restaurent etc. this is a typical hotel of britain. its ok but it could be good. its just to easy to keep doing the same mediocre thing. will i stay again - probably not much to choose.

Some teething problems

Generally Ok but with a few teething problems. The carvery is on Sunday lunchtime only. Our original room had a leaking toilet and the heater did not work. We were moved across the corridor into a room that smelt of tobacco but was assured it was non smoking. We soon found out that the smoke was comming from outside. Directly below the window was the staff smoking area where the bins were overflowing with dog ends.

Excellent sight seeing base

We stayed on an overnight trip to the seaside, from near Aylesbury, Bucks. Hotel is in a good location for Penarth and Barry Island as only a short drive away. Also loads of other places to visit around and about. Swimming pool excellent (especially for my 9 year old!) Only down side is that it is on a very busy, very noisy main road. So do try and get a room at the back of the hotel! Ideal for sight seeing for a couple of days. All in all good value for money.
