Stayed at the Jurys Inn in Glasgow the last week in June. It was a very clean hotel and the rooms were very comfortable. Just a slight complaint that the bed pillows were very flat and house-keeping could not replace them with something more comfortable. No complaints anywhere else, the bar area had a good atmosphere and was kept very clean. The bar meals were also very good if slightly expensive. The hotel staff were all helpful and polite. The breakfasts were also of a good quality and if booked the night before you got a 20% discount, don't know if this always applies. The location was also good being right next to central station. My room overlooked the platforms but there were never any problems with noise. If I stayed in Glasgow again I would definitely return to Jurys.

Jurys Inn is so close to the main shopping area (1 min walk to Argyll Street/ Buchanan Street) and yet gives the benefit of being able to stroll along the banks of the River Clyde. The views at night time over the city are spectacular.

If you're a night person, there are a few nightclubs within walking (stumbling) distance of the hotel. I would say the age group was around early to mid 20's.

My room was modern but basic and totally lacking in character. Coffee/tea making facility was downright dangerous since the kettle was set in on the shelf the wrong way round - and there were no biscuits - not very welcoming. Food in the restaurant at dinner was uninspiring and the roulade tasted of nothing - better to eat out. Quality of food at breakfast buffet was better. Staff were helpful and efficient.

Nearest car park is across the road, Jamacia Street. Make sure you have reception validate your ticket and it's GBP6 per day, pro rata for less.
