These hotels are close the train station and other shops. A tea making pot and cups are always in the room, so we pick up breakfast bars and fruit and make coffee and tea in the room in the morning. With the value of the dollar against the pound these days, it's a way to save money and sleep a little later!

One of the best restaurants I have been to is Piccolo Mondo - an Italian restaurant in the city centre. It's not the cheapest of places but the food and general feel of the restaurant made it worth every penny. First Class.

Lively gay venues within easy reach. Everywhere we went we met friendly, welcoming Glaswegians. We also discovered a real gem of a pub (NOT gay), frequented by the likes of Billy Connelly, which dates back to the 18th century. Located at 112, Stockwell Street, called the Scotia Bar. Wonderful atmosphere, with a large selection of malt whiskies, served by welcoming staff. On the Sunday afternoon we were there we were entertained by a duo, belting out some some great rock music on their guitars.

I would definitely reccomend this hotel. Very central (on the quieter end of Argyll Street), clean and helpful staff.

This is a nice hotel to stay a few days in Glasgow in. Excellent staff, clean rooms and facilities and an excellent breakfast. Highly recommended.

What catches the eye first is the large and comfortable rooms. With the hotel newly refurbished when I stayed there, the refurbishment was evident as everything was clean and felt new, giving the feel of a hotel of a much higher grade, but for a reasonable price. The staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when I was silly enough to show up with a wrong booking date late at night, they were quick to find me a room that was well beyond my expectations. I was even tempted by their buffet breakfast option, but their location is so good it was not necessary. With a tesco opposite the road, fast food outlets like McDonalds and KFC as well as bread shop Greggs five minutes away, and the main shopping areas like Buchanan Street a ten minute walk, I was never short of options. Another bonus is the main bus station is also a walkable distance.
