Its a good job I wasnt expecting much from this hotel. The room was so small I had to turn sideways to move past the end of the bed! The plus side to the hotel is its location, being only a short walk from Kings Cross station. But alas this was about the only positive. The room, although clean, was far too small and my partner and I had to take it in turns getting changed etc. We had to queue for breakfaast and on one day were locked outside the hotel upon our return as the reception desk was not manned for approx. 10 mins! If I was to return to the area, I would seriously think about checking out the Travelodge just down the road.

The hotel is small and so are the rooms. However everything is clean and neat, and breakfast is very good. Receptionists are nice and courteous, Hotel is short walking distance from King's Cross and Pancras railway stations and Underground Station, just 3 or 4 stops from Picadilly Circus and Wesminster. Warning 1: maids who clean rooms and serve breakfast speak very limited English, so do not expect them to understand your request for decaf instead of coffee. Warning 2: Do not stay in the summer as rooms are not air-conditioned.

we just stayed there for 3 nights, and we've been satisfied.The room was clean and very small but efficient and thats exactly what you can expect in this price range in Europe. Close to Kings Cross tube station - so virtually to everything.There is a Tesco not so far, we bought water, cold cuts over there the fridge in the room was handy.We would stay here next time too

The Arriva Hotel offers a budget option in the busy location of Kings Cross. Close to the British Library, University of London, Kings Cross Underground and Railway Stations, and St Pancras International Station. Lots of restaurants nearby. The hotel itself is very basic (the bed filled the room) and the continental breakfast is similarly budget, but I still recommend it to travellers who can't afford the higher priced hotels in the area.

If staying a week or more in central London, purchase a week-long bus pass (Oyster card at the local library) if you need transportation. Cheaper that way. If you need a ride to the airport, taking the Piccadilly line (tube) directly to Heathrow is also cheaper than a shuttle from the hotel.
