see all hotels in Bloomsbury - Soho"Ordinary but not impressed"by C from Dublin
Expensive price. Old rooms. Cleanliness adequate overall although kettle had rust and silt in it. Advert states LCD TV which was non-existent. I honestly expected more from a 4-star London hotel which cost so much. Didnt think that it was value for money and had many other better experiences. Overall I'd rate it as average although expensive in it's class and services offered.
"hotel russel"by j from oxfordshire
hotel expensive considered breakfast not included, even breakfast was expensive at £18.0 when you can get breakfast for £5.0 down the road.nice hotel not a big room, but ok,
"Comfortable well located hotel"by J from Ireland
My stay was for one night on business and I booked the hotel on a web site at short notice .I chose the location for convenience and was not disappointed .While the building itself is old it has great character and the hotel appears to have been substantially refurbished in recent times. No complaints with the room/bathroom-the latter particularly spacious and well laid out.I had continental breakfast which is served in the bar but offers a good choice of fresh produce and the service is efficient and friendly. This is a hotel I would use again and can recommend it for both business and leisure stay.
"Hit and Miss!"by C from Hong Kong
The hotel is above average even though it can be a bit hit & miss. If you get a refurbished room, it's fantastic! But, on one visit, I had a room that wasn't refurbished and was quite old and the air conditioning made clunking noises all night. Having said that, when I complained the next morning, I was able to change rooms immediately. Otherwise, great location (right next to tube station) but a 20-30min walk to oxford street shops, covent garden, national gallery... but very close to the British Museum. Also, not much interseting to eat nearby so make sure you grab a bite before returning to the hotel!
"Refreshing"by G from United Kingdom
Although I stayed for 1 night only , I enjoyed my stay immensely compared to other hotels I'v tried in London. The check-in and out were fast and professionally done. The in room dining lunch that I ordered was delicious although it took a while to be ready and served. when I was leaving ,I booked a car from the hotel to LHR and it only cost me 19 GBP,the car was comfortable and the driver was a nice man. All in all, I am definitly going back next time!!!
"great location"by m from birmingham uk
Great hotel with wonderful transport links very close, great location for sight seeing and buisness travellers, great room the only problem we had was the windows do not open more than 3 inches for fresh air, but there is air conditioning
"Not impressed"by J from Rutland
I was not impressed at all with the room. I had a superior room and then was up-grated to the executive room. It was smaller than other rooms. Also, the room was not properly cleaned-I had to remove dust from floor and had cleaned part of the bathroom//sink!
"Great location but needs updating"by M from Leeds
Great location for the hotel but it needs a revamp. The decor was a bit tired in the room. Breakfast was very good though and couldn't fault the service we got.
"Perfecly situated for a short trip to London"by K from Copenhagen
We arrived at 10 am and we got our room straight away eventhough check in isn´t untill 2 pm. We stayed in a very nice room, a superior double, wich was large and very clean. Comfortable bed and nice modern bathroom. The bath took quite a while to fill but it was very relaxing to soak in. We did not have breakfast in the hotel as £20 seems quite enxpensive when you can get a good English breakfast for £5 down the road. (I stayed in the hotel a few years ago on a business trip with breakfast included - was very nice, I must say) We did have a night cap in the bar though (looks excactly how you want an English hotel bar to look with bookshelves and heavy furniture) the perfect place to end an evening. The tube is just around the corner and the hotel is perfectly situated if you want to go both east and west as we did.
"I WILL CERTAINLY BOOK AGAIN"by G from Santiago, Chile
I was truly surprised by the quality of this hotel; great location, spacious room (Really? In London?), dangerously comfortable bed, and a great breakfast. I simply couldn't fault the place. It surpassed my expectations.
