Very Good Location

Fantastic hotel in a cracking location, although not visiting the O2 arena would recommend hotel if you were a stones throw away. Quick and easy to get to the centre of London, even when the DLR wasn't running (shut at weekend for line works) the Jubilee line only 5 mins walk away. Lots of resturants and bars just outside hotel and lots of shops at Canary Whalf. Spent three nights at the hotel and can't wait to return

Excellent Experience

Chose the hotel at the last minute for new years eve. The hotel could not be faulted, the service was excellent. It wasn't that clear on the website though that there was no on site parking. Had to park accross the road at a cost of £15/day.

Little to criticise

We were ther for four nights over the New Year. The huge beds were very comfortable, the rooms spacious (but the TV was not the best, and there were no biscuits with the courtest tray!) breakfasts superb. Adjacent to DLR, so convenient for travel, but it did not disturb.

First Class Magic

Excellent service from when you arrived at the front door until you left. We had a problem with our dinner reservation at another venue. That was no problem for the Hotel they set up a table for us at very short notice. The day we were leaving the porter asked if they could look after our bags,to make our sight seeing around London easier. No hassel no fuss.

superb stay

both my partner and i loved this hotel, it lives up to its five star reputation. i would stay there again dispite the high price. our room was large and well furnished with a comfortable bed, even the free toileties were lovely quality. I would highly recomend this hotel to anyone liking luxary. the good/ bad point was that it was next to the train line, which offered good travel links and surprisingly little noise.

Great service but some odd design features

Have used Marriotts before but this is definitely one of the better "City-based" ones in the UK. Service is great, the breakfast buffet was well-provided with a charming breakfast chef who cooked omelettes, eggs & waffles to order. The other plus was that the hot-plated foods etc were refreshed regularly so no stale/dried out bacon. Dinner was just as good - a rarity in business hotels. However, some really weird design features. The main entrance is around the back and almost impossible to find when walking from Canary Wharf Tube station (6-7 mins walk). You see the hotel readily enough (although - unlike the Hilton its not on any of the Canary Wharf maps at the station etc), then you see the bar and restaurant, but there is no entrance on that side of the hotel - and no signage telling you where to go to find the entrance! There is a small, very discrete entrance on the Wharfside, but its key operated so when you first arrive its not available. At the main entrance, Reception is not immediately visible and worse still - there are c.6 steps up to that level and no ramp so impossible to wheel up heavy cases. Lastly - as mentioned here - the hotel rooms are on the lower 8 floors of the block, and unless you have access to the Exec Lounge there is nowhere to view the great view to the Canary Wharf architecture. Why no 8th floor Bar? Great service, but the architect should have been fired!!
