Description


Location. Located midway between Hyde and Regents parks, Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes London stands on famed Baker Street in London, England. High-end shops located on Oxford Street begin 350 metres from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes London occupies a traditional Victorian townhouse. The lobby displays subtle references to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous sleuth, Sherlock Holmes, and creates a warm environment with a fireplace, partially exposed wooden floorboards, and broad, deep-brown leather armchairs. Sherlock's Grill invites comfort with intimate alcoves and an open fire. The restaurant serves modern European cuisine prepared in a mesquite wood-fired oven. Fresh bread is baked in house, and the chef uses only organic ingredients. The Executive Lounge exudes private-club atmosphere, serves snacks and boasts a popular tapas menu. Wireless Internet access is available throughout the hotel for a fee. The 24-hour health club houses a sauna, a steam room, free weights, and cardiovascular and strength-training equipment. Serenity therapists offer aroma therapy. In-room beauty treatments are available upon request.

Guestrooms. The four-story Park Plaza Sherlock Holmes London offers 119 guestrooms with oak furniture, knotted rugs, and beds dressed with 350-thread-count Egyptian sheets. Select accommodations feature wood-paneled floors. Accommodations feature satellite television and high-speed wired, wireless and dial-up Internet access for a fee. Rooms include coffeemakers and minibars. Laptop-compatible, in-room safes are provided. Private contemporarily designed bathrooms contain sliding frosted-glass doors, bathrobes and designer toiletries. Executive rooms offer welcome fruit trays, wine, confectionary, and an ergonomically designed desk and chair.

Expert Tip. Le pan Meridien is a great little French bakery and restaurant located four blocks from the hotel. The kitchen uses only organic ingredients. Sherlock's Grill will be closed on Sunday evenings until further notice. Food will be available at the Executive Lounge during this time.

Getting around. The Heathrow Express train and London's black taxi cabs are available for transfer from the airport to the center of London. The London Underground's Piccadilly Line service also connects with Heathrow terminals and takes passengers into central London. The extensive London Underground system connects the hotel with the rest of central London. The Underground station closest to the hotel is Baker Street.

London charges congestion zone fees within clearly marked areas of city. Those who operate vehicles within these zones are assessed daily fees that apply Mondays through Fridays.

The money-saving Oyster Card is a smartcard that stores up to 90 pounds of pay-as-you-go credit. It can be used on the Tubes, buses, DLR, trams and select national rail services throughout London. Nearly always a good stay....

Restaurant Tangine just round the corner is a nice way to spend a relaxed non formal dinner.. the food is good and the prices for food and wine for central london are also fair

I'd stay here again

This hotel was fine - room large enough for two of us and our luggage. The only trouble was we requested twin beds, called to make sure we would have them but arrived with only one double bed. They brought in roll away but it was only "ok". Also, the glass door for bathroom would not stay shut and wasn't adequate.

Convenient location and very good service.

Eat out! Restaurants start next door - Italian, American, Japanese. Don't need to walk a step further than you want to.

could be better

room felt like it needed a good clean especially the carpet, also the floor tiles in the bathroom some were cracked and needed replaced not what you would expect for four star hotel. we asked for more pillows but didnt get any till we complained. booking in was quick and trouble free but dont think i would go back there again

Service could be better

Had to wait until 330pm to check-in. Service at check-in was not overly friendly. Hotel is nice however at a good location. Given how expensive and small hotel rooms tend to be in London this was a fairly good value for the money.
