But the tucked-away pubs, restaurants, and shops of atmospheric Shepherd Market offer affordable local colour, too. see all hotels in Mayfair - Marylebone"not convinced"by a from ireland
the check in service is appalling. in 50 years visiting london hotels i have never experienced a worse or slower ''check in''' process. this is not my first time to rxperience this at the cumberland. there appears to be plenty of staff and supervisors but not many of them working. it took me at least 15 minutes to check in. not acceptable
"Nothing like the photoes!"by S from England
We booked the Cumberland on the pretence the room we were going to get was like the photographs on the website. Sadly it wasnt. The designer seemed to be having an 'off day' in the room we stayed in. Also we came in from a day of shopping to find the maid had left the window open all day resulting in the room feeling like the Ice hotel in Sweden rather than a romantic hotel in London. Dont think we'd go back unless we got to choose our room personally
"fantastic hotel"by J from Norway
Wonderful, trendy hotel in fantastic location.
"Lived up to expectations"by D from Leeds
The Hotel was excellently refurbished with a cool, arty interior and although the rooms were fairly basic, they were clean and had all the essentials you need. The Rhodes Brasserie was also good, though a little expensive.
"Well appointed room"by F from Wales
Well appointed room. Although not spacious all mod cons were present. I would describe the room as compact but comfortable. I enjoyed my stay.
"Great location but no mobile phone signal in the room"by p
Great location but no mobile phone signal in the room
"it's not that clean"by a from riyadh
well , it was not that good not iam being harsh on them no the location is grate but i care about something called "clean".
"'Perfect location'"by I from Amsterdam
The hotel was good, however the tiles outside of the building (out of the window in the corridor) indicate that this could use a rennovation, lot's were damaged/cracked.
"Modern Hotel"by N
The hotel was lovely, clean and felt very fresh inside. The room we had was by no means spacious but very comfortable and well fitted. The bathroom was also small but had a big step in power shower - which sold it for me. Located right next door to Marble Arch tube station it was perfect for getting about. We went to see Wicked at the Victoria Apollo which is just a short taxi ride away.
"Big Dissapointment"by D from ATHENS
I was very disapointed by the conditon of the Hotel. Interesting lobby design, that gives a good impression but when you go up in floors its a mere dissapointment. Rooms are very crammped. I had no heat in my room and the last night the bath lights went out. I think the hotel is so big (1k rooms i think) that they just cant handle it technichly. Only good think is location but there are so many close to Oxford street that i would choose a smaller more personall hotel.
