The hotel ideally located for what I needed but for the price and modern day standards I would have expected a toilet in my room as there was a shower and wash basin. I found it very inconvenient having to go down the corridor to the wc.

Hard to believe that for the price, this hotel existed in Central London. Location is handy, very convenient for travellers to/from Kings Cross, St. Pancras or Euston which are all about tewnty minutes walk away (if that). The hotel is also a stones throw away from Russell Square and 5-10min walk from Russell Square Tube (much easier than Holborn). Service was great, with a room upgrade made available upon arrival. Room was comfortable and tidy, staff very friendly and accomodating and all for a very reasonable rate! Would definately stay again. Without doubt.

We booked this hotel as it was fairly close to Covent Garden and we had tickets for the ballet. However, in this day and age, i think it is taken for granted that hotel rooms have an en suite bathroom. Our hotel room was nice but i was quite surprised to arrive and find a shower which opened straight into the room and onto carpet (not the best for hygiene) and a handbasin, and discovered that the loo was out of the room and down the corridor. It might have been better for the hotel to point this out on the website!

No lift, and we were at 3 floor, and radiator stopped to work the first morning. They weren't able to repair before we checked out. Although this it's well placed and quiet.

the lancaster hotel was great, the room was quite big, very clean and comfortable. we were in london for my other halfs birthday, and we wanted to see all the sites so needed something pretty central. the lancaster was ideal, we managed to get to all the attractions we wanted to on foot. the only downside to the hotel was the lack of a toilet in the room, but that wasn't too much of a problem. overall i was relatively impressed at such a good price!!!

If you are planning on booking a room in this hotel be aware that the toliets are outside of the room. The shower and sink are in your room but not in their own seperate bathroom, saying ensuite room is deceiving and we were not happy when we arrived.

This was the largest hotel room in London I have ever stayed in! And it had a lot of character. The staff were exceptionally friendly, too! If you don't mind not having an ensuite toilet (and I really didn't) this hotel is a perfect choice!
