Description

Location. A painted stucco façade and a column-framed entryway define the exterior of The Regency, located in the Kensington district of London, England. Nearby attractions include The Science Museum, the Victoria & Albert Museum and the Natural History Museum, all located one kilometre from the hotel.
Hotel Features. The Regency's lobby retains many original features and is warmed by an open fireplace. The hotel's Pavilion Restaurant offers an extensive à la carte menu comprised of international, vegetarian and traditional English selections. The bar boasts beers, spirits and a collection of fine wines. Afternoon tea is served amid an elegant setting of Italian marble-clad and hand-textured walls. Tea service includes scones with cream and jam. A business center offers fax, photocopy and print services, and wireless Internet access is available for a fee. Function space includes 12 traditionally styled, naturally lit rooms that accommodate up to 100 people. The Gym offers cardiovascular and resistance equipment, a steam bath and a sauna for a fee. Practical property amenities include complimentary weekday newspapers, a currency exchange and concierge services.

Guestrooms. This property offers 210 air-conditioned guestrooms equipped with wireless Internet access, direct-dial telephones and satellite television. Room amenities include coffeemakers and trouser presses. Select rooms offer contemporary design with pastel color schemes, separate sitting areas and medium-toned wood furnishings.

Expert Tip. Designed for those who haven't time to be seated, The Regency prepares a "Boxed Lunch" that includes one ham-and-mustard, and one cheddar-cheese baguette-style sandwich, an apple, a muffin, crisps and a soft drink.

From London Heathrow Airport:
Approximate distance to the hotel is 20 km (13 miles).

Getting there. The Heathrow Express train serves Paddington Station. The airport is also on the Underground's Piccadilly Line, which takes passengers into Knightsbridge, Green Park, Leicester Square and King's Cross underground stations. London's black taxi cabs also service Heathrow Airport. Bus services include the Airbus Heathrow shuttle to London Victoria or King's Cross railway stations.

London charges congestion zone fees within clearly designated areas of the city. Those who operate vehicles within these zones are assessed daily fees that apply Mondays through Fridays.

The money-saving Oyster Card is a smartcard that stores up to 90 pounds of pay-as-you-go credit. It can be used on the Tubes, buses, DLR, trams and select national rail services throughout London. Oyster Cards are less expensive than single fares, and daily price capping automatically calculates the least expensive fare for single-day journeys. Oyster Cards can be purchased at the Oyster website, most Tube station ticket offices, at Oyster Ticket Stops, at select National Rail ticket offices, at select London Travel Information Centres, and by telephone at 0845 330 9876.

Boutique Hotel Experience

Easiest place to get a cab - cabbies are plentiful and often park in the center section of Queen's Gate road in front of the hotel.

Excellent Hotel and Service

There is a market/grocery store a very short distance down the street from this hotel. It is an excellent place to get snacks and drinks.

Great location! Would Stay Again...

Do not order the breakfast at the hotel. Not worth the price when you can get a true breakfast at any of the local spots for a third of the price

Perfect location

Very nice cafe on Gloucester Road, next door to a stationary shop and near the tube station. Good juices, coffee and food and reasonably priced.

Was maybe once a top hotel

The lobby is impressive but thats really were it ends, the rooms are very small and the hotel bar lacks any life. When we decided to go for a drink in the bar we were joined by one other person and the barman. The hotel is in a good location for getting around london but would only recomend it for a short stay maybe only one or two nights.

Fine for a short stay

A clean and perfectly comfortable hotel in an extremely well situated location. Room was small (usual for London) and bathroom seemingly had zero ventilation, but generally very nice.

great location

Though I made reservation a month before, they did not have the room type I requested - and they were far from full. I was situated above a busy intersection and across from a construction site. Other than that, all else was fine.

Good location, well maintained, 2 blocks to the tube, posh, nice neighborhood, great customer service. Better than expected for star rating.
