..This hotel is trapped between Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square. It's then a 2 min walk to ALL the shows and the luxury shopping of Regent Street. 5 mins Will take you to Oxford street and the back end of Camdens shopping areas. The hotel had scaffolding round it on arrival, but not a major issue. We arrived 2 hours early and got upgraded to a junior suite! The room was very spacious, with a BIG comfortable bed, large flat screen tv, seperate changing/ironing/wardrobe area and nice toilet. One thing we noticed was how fresh the room smelt on every return. For a 'smack bang in the middle of everything' hotel, this is your place! Staff were MORE than helpfull on directions and very friendly otherwise. 100% would return.
"Unexpected charge upon checkout"by A from Fife
No real complaints about the hotel in general, excellent location, fairly good room for the price, customer service average. Only real complaint was the £12 laundry charge upon leaving the room, never encoutered anything like that before and was never mentioned to us until we were checking out. Recommended for the location, not bad otherwise, but do be aware of this laundry charge.
"Small rooms but location makes up for it"by D from New York
The rooms are a bit small and the walls seem a little thin (I could hear the TV and man speaking next door in the early evening- thank heavens he went to bed) but if you're in Trafalgar Square on holiday you shouldn't be spending too much time in the hotel anyway. Hotel environment was clean and tidy and the staff was nice. It's located around the corner from the Gallery and a few blocks away from both Leicester Square (West End) and Picadilly Circus. Big Ben/Parliament/Westminster Abbey are a 10-15 min walk down Whitehall Street. One afternoon it rained a little and I was surprised that they didn't have "loaner" umbrellas. Instead, they give you one and put a 40 pound charge on your room, which is taken off when you return the umbrella. Granted, it was nice and sturdy, but I wouldn't pay that much ANYWHERE for an umbrella... We didn't order any room service so I can't comment on the food but the hotel has two restaurants and the menus are posted just about everywhere (in elevators, hallways, etc.) Wireless Internet is 6 pounds for an hour or 10 pounds for 24. To my knowledge there was no ethernet connection available in the rooms. It was a pleasant (albeit a little pricy) stay in London and if I got a better deal on the rooms I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

"Great location average room"by J from London
We chose the Royal Trafalgar for its location and early check in (2pm). We had been on a long flight and wanted our room sooner. Unfortunately, ours and a few others were not ready! At 2.30, we were upgraded to a complimentary executive suite. I still would have preferred the room to have been ready on time. However, the reception area was nice, the guy on the desk tried his best and we got a nice clean room in the end. I would hate to see what the standard room was like because the executive room was rather thin. It looked a bit worn around the edges but it did the job I suppose. The only negative was the noise level from the corridor. The insulation was poor and you could hear every conversation from outside if there was one. All in all, for price and location it was good enough. They allowed us to leave our luggage with them until our train the next day which is always a good thing.
"Rather disappointed"by C from Lincolnshire
Excellent location, but hotel lacked star rating as advertised. Paid an extra £20.00 per night for an upgrade. No robes in room although told this was part of upgrade. Kettle not working in room. When reported to reception someone came to room without a replacement wanting to come into room. Not entirely appropriate as husband in underwear and myself still in bed!!! After looking at kettle said "It's not working, I will get a replacement" Obviously our say so that kettle not working meant nothing!! We were told upgrade included robes, there were none in room. This two day stay was for our wedding anniversary. When we departed we were not asked how our stay was, very poor customer relations. We would not recommend the hotel at it's present star rating.
"great children free time in london"by s from cornwall
This is a really nice hotel and in a great location, staff were really friendly and helpful. We were only there for a short stay but had a brilliant time the only slight thing was we picked a smoking room as it was ready before the non smoking room,as i used to smoke i thought it would'nt be a problem but it did smell quite smokey in the room and it would have bothered us if we had stayed longer than 2 nights, anyway we chose it and they probably would have changed us if i had asked so it really is not a negative.
"Great location"by E from Dublin
Excellent location literally one minute walk from Leicester Square. Very friendly service at reception & concierge.
"You wouldn't spend your own money!"by I from Yorkshire
This was a one night stay for business purposes. The location of the hotel is ideal but the room I had was small and in need of redecoration. The mattress on the bed was wafer thin. The lights in the bathroom were very dim, I could only just make out my reflection when shaving. Just as well it was on expenses, I'd be even more unhappy if it had been my own money.
