Location Location

Chose this hotel purely because of it's proximity to theatre land, couldn't have picked a better location. As well as the obvious advantage of closeness to theatre, this hotel was very nice, and staff extremely polite and friendly, excellant service and quality of food. Only downside were ques for breakfast, though for me personally this only happened on one morning and was only for a matter of minutes so wasn't really a problem at all, though did notice when leaving the restaurant after having my breakfast that the que did stretch quite far and had I been in this I imagine I wouldn't have been happy. Desoite this overall excellant all round if I was to make another theatre break to London I would choose to stay here again.

First class location and service

Two mins walk from covent garden market, staff and service excellent. Breakfast top class. Hotel busy but never waiting long for service or attention. Lobby and downstairs looked impressive, bedroom was small and in need of refurbishment. However room was clean, comfortable and although our room faced 'The Strand 'noise was not an issue and we slept very well.

Hotel was under construction

The hotel location was fine; but it was under re-construction. Mainly the problem was breakfast -- not enough variety and the coffee was the worst I've ever had. The staff, however, was extremely helpful.

rude insulting staff

while we were staying at this hotel we went for a drink in the bar. The waiter brought us our first drinks, then put our second drinks on our tab. My partner then went outside for a cigarette and I needed to go to the bathroom. The barmen would not let me leave the bar without paying for the drinks even though they had my name and room number! This was my birthday treat and the drinks were on my boyfriend but instead I had to pay £32 to go to the bathroom. The staff spoke to me as if I was a theaf and was going to run of the hotel. I have stayed in many hotels before and have never been treated like this. If they have a policy for paying for drinks up front they should let customers know when they purchase their drinks. My advice- Stay somewhere where you know you will get good customer service!!!!! Very poor and insulting staff!

Great location!

Hotel is situated in a great location. Within walking distance of plenty of landmarks. Handy for taking in a show. Hotel room was pleasant, we went for the superior double. The weather was very warm when we visited and this made the room very uncomfortable as there is was no air con. We dined in the hotel's carvery on one of the nights, this is not recomended as there are plenty of better eateries within walking distance.

Perfect Theatre-Land Location

What a great location for all the top theatre shows - all within easy walking distance. If you're not a lover of the musicals then it's just moments from Covent Garden & Trafalgar Square and a leisurely stroll to St Pauls Cathedral. The staff were wonderfully helpful in giving us directions to anywhere we wanted to go and always doing so with a smile.

Theatre Break

WOW! was my stay in sunny London great. If your going to the theatre then this is the hotel for you people. Just a five minute walk from Charring Cross station and at the centre of all the theatres. the staff were friendly and helpful our room was good though i could have done with a harder matress on the bed. Just a short walk from Covent garden, Traffalgar square and the Embankment. When i return to London Then i will stay here.

Good but no frills

I stayed for one night and it was adequate and comfortable. Check-in was quick and without hassle. The room was tidy, neat and clean. There was only a couple of tiny problems with the room was that in the toilet the tile was coming away from the wall and it felt like they hadnt finished doing it. The bed was also a bit of a problem. When sitting against the bedboard, watching the tv for example, the bed would slip away from underneath you!! Stable and secure beds would be a lot more comfortable. Breakfast was good and hot. Overall, it was a reasonable comfortable stay in a hotel with a great location. Would i stay again...probably yes.

Highly recommended

We thoroughly enjoved our stay at the Strand palace, the club rooms are really nicely refurbished and look brand new. The location cannot be beaten as you are in the middle of theatre land and around the corner from Covent Garden. Breakfast, for a buffet arrangement, is very good indeed. We will be back later this year without any doubt
