I staied at the 6th floor, it is old and dirty, not happy at all. I will not go there anymore and i ll not recommand it. Furthermore the area is not really nice even if it is close to the financial district.

Friendly staff, good sized room. Took about 15 minutes from Underground which might prevent me from stopping here in future

Nice and kind personnel, clean rooms but the hotel should have 2 star rating not 4. 3 stars hotels in manhattan and paris were definitely better.

I cannot believe that this hotel has a 4-star rating. The room product was tired and dirty, bathroom facilities for subpar, and the level of customer service is sad. I have complained with the hotel and only received a written apology, no form of reimbursement. 1. The website clearly states that there is air conditioning in ALL rooms- however no AC. 2. The sheets on my bed were dirty with blood stains, and not stained by me. 3. the staff did not change the dirty sheet for me, they simply brought me a new sheet to change myself. 5. our sheets were not changed everyday. 5. There were bugs in our bathroom. 6. We requested a wake-up call on our first night, and never received one. Thankfully, I also set an alarm I brought with me. Otherwise, we would have slept in and missed our tour bus. 5. Our shower pressure was very low, and the shower head did not stay on/up and during showers, the lever and to be held up by hand. And the toilet did not consistently flush. 6. Dirty/sticky carpet, dirty sheets, dirty comforters. 7 Poor water pressure and unreliable bathroom facilitates. The Thistle website states, "Experience is everything. And ours has taught us what really matters to our guests. So everything in our bedrooms - technology to toiletries, bed linen to bathroom fittings - has been chosen with one thing in mind: your comfort." And this was NOT my experience.

Eat and drink before you arrive and just use this as a bed for the night - don't even think about breakfast - it'll be lunchtime before you gt to the front of the queue.

What a mixture. IF you are booking here ensure that your room will be in the main (air conditioned) building and not the barrack across the alley. Front desk moved after a complaint and upgraded us. Strangely, the room service thought the two of us could make do with one towel. Even after delivering the 2nd the next day we were down to 1 again. Everybody was very friendly and especially in the bar. As long as you are put in the main hotel, and don't mind a little towel and soap shortage the place is fine and inexpensive -- although watch out for the breakfast -- 16 pounds a person. We would certainly stay there again.

Check in was a non-event, the girl didn't smile once. I cannot remember if she was polite. The hotel was a bit of a maze, room was difficult to find. The room itself appeared ok, no airconditioning, the showeer and bathroom were outdated. Showeer TERRIBLE! Water rpessure was non-existent, I wonder how people even get showered here...I will never stay here again. Requests for extra towel and shower gel were not fulfilled.

The Barbican centre is about 10 mins walk from the hotel. The Bank, St Pauls and the financial district can be reached within 20-30 minutes.
