Not impressed at all: the room was tatty and the hotel was extremely noisy. I won't be going back!
"Average hotel in proximity of railway station"by J from Oegstgeest
I choose this hotel as I was looking for a fit for purpose place to stay for 1 night in the proximity of St Pancras were I had to catch an early train. The hotel staff at check-in was friendly and the room was clean. The hotel is located at a noisy/busy street, so don't open your window for some fresh air. The A/C was hardly blowing any air. The bathroom was adequate. Good TV system.
"not impressed"by a from rotherham
curtains were not as wide as window. 1 hour after phoning. niothing done. phoned again, houseleeper came. tried closing them1 i pointed out they were not wide enough, she then shrugged shoulders and walkked out. I asked to be moved. this was done. dinner in restaurant not good. Lamb tased of beef and parts of this tased "of" I was offered complimentary coffee and dessert, but declined was refused VAT receipt because booked in advance through agency, which was advance payment. I have often used this method and hotels have always given me a VAt receipt in past.
"Mostly Great but just two complaints"by J from North West of England
Everything was great ... except ... the position of the car park - it was so hard to get in and out of. The other thing was the breakfast in the Bistro. It cost £20 for my grandson and myself and the cooked items were very poor (bacon was hard, eggs overcooked, hash brown dried up, toast not fresh)
"Not The Best!"by J from Manchester
Stayed for 2 nights in a single room which was clean and fairly cumfy, but there was two doors at either end of my room that connected to two other rooms so it felt like I was sharing my room as you could hear everything that went on in the other rooms by other guest's(and somethings you would rather not be able to hear!!) so it wasn't very private. But staff are helpfull and it was clean. Very close to Euston,I wouldn't wish to stay longer than 2 night's and have stayed in alot better hotels in London for the same money, so I wouldn't choose to stay there again in a hurry.
"Not overly impressed"by J from London
The car park has no CCTV, somebody smashed into my car and drove off, staff very unhelpful. The room had lots of stains, it was cold no central heating only hot air system.
"Russell Hotel"by L from Chester
An old hotel and apart from some new curtains rooms are still in need of refreshing. Paintwork old, rooms smell musty and in general they need a wake up call
"Surprise"by J from Glasgow
At time of booking asked for a smoking room and was confirmed as such. Surprise at 1am to find no smoking after a long delayed trip from Glasgow. Maybe the law but advice at time of booking would have been appreciated. Standing outside on street corner to smoke in middle of night not safe for female guests. Female safety used to be a USP for hotel chains.
"Not impressed with the food"by L from Yorkshire
Breakfast time can be a bit chaotic. I had to queue for about 10 - 15 minutes to be seated on on day. Breakfast is buffet style and there is plenty of choice. however, the toast is only toasted on one side and it was cold when it arrived at my table. The quality of the coffee is poor for a hotel of that standard. The fried eggs are often hard. However, room service is excellent. They have refurbished the bistro but the evening meals do not match the quality of the hotel. The menu doesn't seem to change either and I found it a touch expensive. Yes, I would go back to the Thistle but I would not eat there.
"Wake-up call"by d from blackburn
