Description


Location. Threadneedles Hotel is located opposite the Bank of England in The City, the historic financial district of central London, UK. The hotel is five blocks from St Paul's Cathedral, 500 metres from Tower Bridge and 800 metres from the Tower of London. Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and the Tate Modern gallery are within 500 metres over the Millennium Bridge. Bank Tube station is 250 metres from the hotel.

Hotel Features. Converted from a 19th-century banking hall, Threadneedles is a Conde Nast Top 100 hotel. Period details include an ornate stained-glass dome that spills light into the lobby and lounge.

High Victorian ceilings and neoclassical columns decorate Bonds, the Threadneedles Hotel's restaurant, which has a modern-French menu featuring delicacies such as Venison with Pumpkin Puree, and Prune and Armagnac Souffle. Bond's Bar has polished dark-wood fixtures and leather-backed chairs.

There are meeting rooms on site, and Merchant Taylors Hall, a large conference venue, is next door. Wireless Internet access is available (surcharge).

The hotel offers in-room Thai or aromatherapy massages (surcharge), and use of a nearby fitness centre (discounted rate).

Guestrooms. The hotel's 69 air- conditioned rooms are decorated in warm tones and have complimentary Internet access, cable television, minibars, iPod docks, and complimentary bottled water. Limestone bathrooms have bathrobes and complimentary designer toiletries.

Expert Tip. When guests arrive at the hotel they are given a set of personalised business cards printed with their names and the contact details of the hotel. The hotel allows two people maximum per room. Special requests can be made directly through the hotel using the number on the reservation confirmation.

London City excellent hotel

Excellent hotel to stay in London financial quarter. Restaurants and pubs are nearby. The Bank tube station is kind of across the street from the hotel door.

Relaxed weekend

Booked the hotel as a birthday present for my girlfriend. I was a bit concerned about the hotel being in a quiet part of the town but it's very well comunicated and it's only 5 minutes by taxi to the west end. The room was big and comfortable with elegant and warm style. The bathroom was really nice, even though i wouldnt mind a bigger bath. The ipod speakers were great to set the mood for my romantic night... It was a lovely stay at this hotel and deffinitely recommend this place for a weekend to anyone!

Excellent hotel hidden away

Beautiful room and lovely little hotel hidden away. Staff very friendly and polite - couldn't do enough for you. Very well situated for our visit to the Cermeony of the Keys at the Tower of London.
