Not a bad place to stay if you are on business or going to the races and need a more reasonably priced place to stay. Food is good - wine list needs reviewing though.

Hotel was great apart from the fire alarm going off at 5am and us all being evacuated outside in freezing conditions - not the hotel's fault, obviously, but I would have thought under the circumstances that they might have extended breakfast the next morning. The guy running the breakfast dining room was in a bit of a hurry to get everyone out by 11am!

They upgrade us to a family room for no extra-charge and let us have late check out so we could enjoyed the spa !. The swimming pool was cold though which was a bit disspointing.

If you are coming from the airport (Heathrow), you should know that it costs 60 GBP to get there by airport taxi. To return to the airport, the Copthorne will book you a taxi for about 25 GBP. If you want to avoid that crazy expense on the way out, there is a bus running from the Central Bus Station in the airport that gets you to about a five minute walk from the hotel for only a few GBPs.

The hotel itself was great. It was clean, comfortable and the staff was pleasant. The consierge staff was very knowledgeable and exceptionally helpful. The restaurant was a bit pricey and there were not a lot of other restaurant options available in the town of Slough.
